Standard Vacuum Casting

Vacuum Casting. The Bridge to Low-Volume Production.

REBAN specializes in professional Vacuum Casting (Urethane Casting), using high-fidelity silicone molds to replicate production-grade plastic properties. This process delivers 1–100+ parts with injection-molded quality, bypassing the high costs and long lead times of steel tooling.

Why Partner with REBAN?

The Strategic Advantage of Agile Manufacturing

  • Premium Material Access: Situated in a global manufacturing hub, we utilize elite resins (AXSON/HEI-CAST) and high-tier silicones to ensure your prototypes achieve industrial-grade durability.

  • Complex Geometry Specialists: We replicate deep undercuts and thin-walled features that are often “un-moldable” or cost-prohibitive in traditional steel tooling.

  • Cost-Effective Market Entry: Launch batches of 5–500 units without the heavy investment of hard tooling, allowing for low-risk market testing and rapid design iteration.

  • Insert & Overmolding Capabilities: Our process supports casting around brass inserts, bushings, or existing components to create fully functional, multi-material assemblies.

Vacuum Casting Technical Specification Matrix

Technical Parameter REBAN Regional Standard Engineering Notes
Material Emulation ABS, PC (Clear), Nylon (PA66), TPE/Rubber (30A-90A), UL94-V0 Fire Retardant High-fidelity resins (Axson/Heicast) to match production intent.
Dimensional Accuracy ±0.15mm per 100mm Standard commercial tolerance; high-precision master patterns used.
Max Part Dimensions Up to 2000mm x 1000mm x 800mm Supports large-scale industrial housings and automotive panels.
Surface Textures SPI-A1 Mirror, VDI 24-33, MT-Equivalent, High-Gloss Paint, EMI Shielding Textures are transferred directly from the master pattern with 99% fidelity.
Min Wall Thickness 0.5mm (Small areas) / 1.5mm (Large surfaces) Ensures full resin flow and structural integrity during vacuum infusion.
Embedded Inserts Brass Bushings, Threaded Studs, Magnets, Electronic Sensors Hardware is manually positioned within the mold before casting.
Lead Time 3 – 7 Working Days (Batch size dependent) From CAD approval to first article shipment.
Mold Life 15 – 25 Shots per silicone cavity Cost-effective for bridge production before steel tooling.

Design Guidelines for Vacuum Casting (DfM)

  • Uniform Wall Thickness: To prevent “sink marks” or warping during the curing process, aim for wall thicknesses between 1.5mm and 4.0mm.
  • Draft Angles: While silicone molds are flexible and can handle zero draft, adding 0.5° to 1° of draft significantly extends mold life and improves surface consistency
  • Minimum Feature Size: Fine details and text should be at least 0.5mm wide and 0.3mm high to ensure the silicone captures the geometry and the resin fills it completely.
